General Multipla - can't remove centre rear seat

I just can't remove the centre rear seat on my multi. The seat is actually in the second position back so it's not even as far forward as it can go - gawd only knows how the forward position can be used. Yet with the centre rear seat slid all the way back and the centre front seat slid all the way forward there is still not enough space to tilt it right up and remove it.

When the front centre seat is slid forward (it only moves about 4 inches), and the front left/right seats slid back, the centre seat is still 3 inches back from the left/right seats. This can't be right - the front centre seat has the best leg room in the car!!

I have checked for obstructions but can't see anything. Is it possible Fiat just fitted it in the wrong place.

We're going on holiday tomorrow and so I really would like to get this resolved. thanks for any suggestions.

Sounds similar to mine, where the front centre seat is v stiff on its runners, try sitting in rear centre and pushing while a, n, other operates the front centre seat bar handle, if memory seves when i took this out to change seat cable there was only 1 choice of bolt holes to fix it to
