General Mobile phone/PDA/nav mounting point

Has anyone figured out a good spot to mount a phone/pda/navigation system display on the GP dash? Other than by using a suction cup on the windscreen, that is?

I'm looking for a spot that is both easily visible as well as reachable from the driver's seat.

Due to the limited angle adjustments possible on the kit I got, I'm looking for a fairly vertical spot, most of the dash is too horizontal. The best I've come up with so far is a fairly low spot between the door and the wheel on the black plastic bit that has the hole for cards/change in it.

I am using 1/4 light window
Using my DELL Axim x50v pda holder at the moment i have got my ipod in there as i only use pda for sat nav when required.

I got mine from LC Motors, Newport Gwent 01633 259892
Dealt with a bloke called Gary, very helpful if you mention orange sporting i am sure he will remember me.
They actually had the one i bought in stock - the part fits the new panda as well so maybe thats why.

I also spoke to Dean from Lee & Turners in Bridgend 01656 641320- again very helpful he tried to get me a kit but it was the wrong one - so when i discovered the correct part number i phoned a few dealers
Part number is - 50901536
Should be easier for you in Margam they are on the main duel carraigeway by south wales police rugby ground in bridgend

Not sure but mines a 4th gen but think you be ok as it seems the connector are the same on pods

After doing some more research, I've opted for a Brodit mounting kit to create a good spot for mounting my phone holder. The kit allows any "screw on" holder to be mounted without damaging the dash.

Brodit do two kits specifically for the GP, one that mounts over one of the central air vents (I'll be getting this one):
