Hi guys
I'm having a problem with my 2002 fiat punto 1.2 8v. Whenever it's raining heavily (I live in England so thats pretty much everyday) and I'm driving on the motorway, the car starts juddering violently and I lose revs. Whenever i try to accelerate again the car just keeps juddering and as soon as I get back up to 3000 revs it will drop back down and the engine warning light appears. It will keep repeating this and then all of a sudden it will stop. It only does this on the motorway in heavy rain when I'm doing around 70mph.
My guess is that water is getting somewhere it shouldn't but any help would be much appreciated!!

Sounds like your spaky bits are leaky and the water is making it worse. Run it in the dark with the air filter off looking for sparks. Spraying wd40 on the ht leads and coils will help in the meanwhile.

Yea I thought it was something to do with that. I'll check tomorrow and keep you updated. Thanks guys!

I checked it at night and there's no sparks but one of the bolts holding the air filter box on has snapped so the air filter box isn't on very secure. could this have something to do with it?
