bumping up:

does anyone knows the exact ring dimension in mk2 ? inner and outter size ? I can't find it anywhere and I need to know it before order.

I need to change my standard LED rings from sonar headlights into a CCFL rings.

old thread but just a quick check. to cut the glass off you dont actualy cut the glass? cut 5ml away from the glass on the black plastic? all way round and cut off the little glass brakets?
 
you cut right next to the lip, which is 5mm in like you said. If you look at the light unit it will make sense.You dont need to cut the brackets off, they can stay on if you want.

Does anyone know if you can still buy the correct size of halo light to do the conversion on standard lights? I see a few sizes types and colours on ebay but no idea what size they are supposed to be.

yeah i understand so the bit at the very edge of glass where it overlaps the black plastic by approx 5mm. do this all way round?

id imagine you can still get the halo lights at the right size

Yh i been looking for some halo rings to fit the standard headlights but cant find any to fit only find ones for like corsa b's and saxo's

If you find any that will fit please let me know cheers

Wil keep an eye open for you pal. I think someone put the size of halo needed on here. Help you find better. Wel iv just done one light. Just waiting for silicone to dry on top half. Then il silicone bottem half tommor. Wil get pics up on this thread and my progress thread to when they are done

Cheers mate please let me know been looking for some for months now cant find any and cant find out what size i need.

Iv asked on this forum so many times what size angel rings i neeed to make my own angel eye headlights but no one replys, i need to know the size and where to purchase them from please.

Ebays best bet. Maby tho you could get them flexy led audi style lights. Bend them round so they look like halo lights. Just a thort mind.mite look good

Nah mate then i will have like dot led's round the lights and its not as if the punto lamps are that large in diametre think itll look abit crap tbh

I wanted angel rings so i get that solid glow around the lamps, i been on ebay loads cant seem to find owt:(

I found a guide on youtube how to make your own with a roller bind tube lol they actually look pretty good mate, might give it a go if no one can find the right size or tell me what size to buy.
 
I want to do this but I'm scared!! haha.. :eek:

Does anybody know if people can do it for you and sell them to you?

I just thought it would be cheaper than buying Angel eyes? :)

how do i get tjhe orange indicator lense out it wont pull out i ssee one clip aty the bottom connecting the main beam side to the lense i push the clip but still no luck cant pul it out!!!

please help
 
For bending plastic rods set the oven at about 120 degs C and leave the plastic to soften for 15mins. If its not soft enough go up to 150C. To get a good heat conduction you can use a tray with cooking oil to cover the plastic. When done put the oil into your dad's diesel tank. ;)
Buy 4 lengths of venetion blind control rods so you can goof it a few times.
