Is it easy to get rid of mayo? When i check my oil there are traces of it on the dip-stick and around the filler neck. I think its caused by it being winter and the cold temps and the short journey to work that my daughter does, about 3.5 miles there. I think i read on here that someone runs the engine with the dip-stick/oil filler cap removed and the mayo blows out?

Truth is the car is not getting hot enough to evaporate the water content from the combustion gases off properly needs a good run of about twenty miles each week at reasonable revs to clear it!.
Also if the car is only doing short stop start journeys you should halve the oil change intervals to protect the engine! and put the battery on a trickle charge when not in use!.

If it's building up mayo it's a strong sign of head gasket failure. Could be condensation from short journeys and not getting up to temperature but worth getting the head gasket checked out.

It's not doing the engine any good running on wet oil either so it's going to need an oil and filter change. Is there any mayo on the cooling system as that would back up the head gasket theory too.
