a re-mould is when the whole tyre casing is done(y) My remoulds were guaranteed upto 130mph and one blew at 80mph, luckily it was on the back or i wouldnt be here now(n)
How do you know if your tyres are remoulds, do they have a marking on them along with all the other letters and numbers?

With a re-tread you will notice excess rubber on the side walls where the adhesive has been pushed out under pressure in the curing tank, its nothing to worry about and you can pull it away with your thumb and finger.
With a remould they are harder to spot unless you know what you are looking for. As the whole casing has been stripped and re rubbered it will for all intents and purposes look like a new tyre complete with the little rubber needles. Just read the casing and it should have embossed into it that its a re-mould.
Generally, most car tyres are re treads not re moulds as they are cheaper and less hassle to make with the added bonus you keep initial manufacturers name on the sidewall. IMO stay away from either, it aint worth the risk to you or your motor.:slayer:
Hope i have been of some help!(y)

I steer well clear of chain tyre fitting companies & always use independants. Last set i bought were for the mrs's mondeo and that came to £192 for four 205/50x16's balanced and valved as well.

My cars on the other hand, as i'm such a tight fisted git i go to the breakers and pay a tenner a corner already fitted to rims :D

Re: Today morning boss...

if you have probs with these peeps just go to their web site & mail the head CS dude.i did this & got a phone call,an appointment & money off.the branch staff dont like it if they get pressure from above. ;) :)

ahh.. good old kwick fit..

I took mine in my local and they said baffles are gone (which has been confirmed elsewhere), so i asked if it needed doing. One guys says yes, £140 or something, sends someone else out who says no it dont need doing. I asked the manager if it needs doing, and he said, yes and no, then walked off. :bang:
Went to another down the road, and got 4 answers, 2 yes, 2 no's :bang:

Go to the garage i use now, and finally get a decent answer - Not urgent but it will fail the MOT.

Total time in kwick fit - 1 hour 30 mins, no clear answer
Total time in garage - 5 mins, perfect answer.

Moral = never go to "quick" fit..

Anyway, rant over.

We took our beloved Brava, before it died, to get new tyres on it, it took them 3 hours to do, because they forgot they had it.

They offered free tracking, but since we thought it would take another 3 hours to do, we decided against it.

My last Stilo went to National and it took them less than an hour to do, balanced etc

RE MOULDS??????????......a little bit of advice.....REMOULDS KILL...simple as that.....that is why they are banned in most EU countries...uk is to abn them in 3 years time...they are unsafe second hand remoulded treads..the tyre walls are of course second hand and some missfitt in pakistan inspecting tyre walls before they are remoulded is not what i want to be sat on doing 75mph.....the tread peals away with the heat you get bad mpg and the stoping distance is about as good as michael owen on ice...lol...do you agree???

Speed limit is 70mph mate:rolleyes:

I have used remoulds in the past but to be honest you get better wear/life from as decent tyre even though it will cost you twice the price.Hankooks do me fine.
