I only went to look at used cars at a local dealership and I end up buying a brand new one!

So on Tuesday I pick up my 2011/61 fiat 500 twinair plus! I bought it as the mpg sounded excellent but Reading on here makes me think they're a bit thirsty to start with for a few thousand miles!

I wanted a diesel as I use my car for work but salesman said I wouldn't get my return on a diesel for the amount of miles I do.

Anyways! Can't wait til Tuesday! X

Congratulations! I remember the excitement when we picked ours up and drove home in the snow last winter. You'll love it! What colour did you get?

When I bought my last car I planned to get a used one but ended up buying new. The finance deals on new ones were amazing. If you're anything like I was, you'll be in a state of disbelief at the moment about getting a brand new car, but I bet you won't regret it. :D

Welcome to the growing clan.

I hope you enjoy your TA as much as we do.

I don't want to put a damper on things but I seriously doubt that mpg will improve significantly with a few thousand miles on the clock. It takes care and restraint to get good mpg out of a TA, but it is possible.

That aside, it's good fun and is still inexpensive to run.

We're absolutely delighted with ours and we've been using exclusively all weekend - but she won't let me take it to work tomorrow!

My initial 50+ mpg's has been shot to pieces - totally the fault of the car being an absolute hoot to go-kart around town. The noise in addictive and the low down torque unbelievable for 875cc. It's like being back in the nineteen sixties with a (real) Mini Cooper S - but without the spine damaging ride and oil leaks!
Consequently I'm down to the low 40's fuel wise - but getting 100+ on the fun factor.

Need to thrash it a bit more to get it fully run-in and loosened-up. Now there's an idea :D - might make an excuse and take it out for another blast after dinner.:)

Can't be any worse than my astra convertible on fuel! That barely does 50 miles on a tenner! Grr looks good during the summer though! Lol

love the retro look of the 500 though. Did have a pt cruiser but a petrol and that barely managed 35-40 miles to the tenner!

Anyways. It's a bossa nova. Hubby wanted a pasadoble but I like the bossa with the black wheels. Not to keen on the burnished chrome stuff looks a bit tacky and plasticky, salesman said I was the first to say that!

don't think that will bring up the pic, if not I'll post tomorrow when I'm not on my iPhone!

Hi,
Had the dealer got this in the showroom?
I've wanted to see one in the flesh, but all my local dealers have got the blue one in the showrooms.

yes it was on the forecourt. 5 miles on the clock! It was the only twinair plus they had. I test drove the twinair pop version though. Looks mean with the black wheels etc!

Can't wait to get it!

Hi Victoria!! I bet you can't wait to collect your car - I got mine 10 days ago and love it!! I'm really interested to see more photos of the inside of the twinair edititions - I got a TA lounge so my car has the colour of the car on the inside bits.
I'm still getting used to the new driving style as it were - however I didn't buy the car specifically for the MPG - any improvements I get in fuel costs are a bonus for me :)

Well I picked my ta+ up earlier and I fricking love it! I'm not one for naming cars but this one is called luigi! I'm sure there's a few luigis out there.
Can't upload any photos as on my phone but it's a beauty!
Already averaging 40-50mpg which I'm already impressed about. People at work love it and the boss has already made a call about getting one!

Nice one, only picked mine up on thursday last week and keep finding excuses to drive it :D

can't wait to see the pix (y)

only problem is, I like hearing the engine sound in 1st and 2nd which does nothing for economy

I've also taken the plunge and ordered the Alonso edition (Twinair plus, midnight indigo blue, black wheels). Love the colour combination and an unusual colour to have.

Looking forward to owning my third baby Fiat, after previously owning a Panda 100HP and a Cinquecento Sporting both of which were great cars.

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all well. I handed in th 1.4 Sport today for the new Twinair Plus, I was very sad about losing bubbles but due to the rise in petrol, tax and insurance, I decided to part ex her for the twinair.

The car is fantastic and nippier then Bubbles but I couldn't help feeling almost heartbroken at having to give up my baby.

I just thought I would see if anyone else has grow as attached as I have to the Fiat 500's.:cry::cry:

Good luck with your new car.

Do you think that you will save enough in fuel economy, road tax and insurance to offset the hit of depreciation that you just had to take? What was the cost of changing to the new car?

Well time will tell.. Well I do not have to pay tax at all now so thats a saving of £71.50 just for 6 months, with my repayments and insurance I am making a saving of £55. With regards to fuel I will have to let you know about that! x
