Technical its getting hot in here... temperature advice 1.1 selecta

Hello!,

I have just purchased a selecta again, I cant tell you how much I love this thing already, but I do have some niggles to get to grips with.

1) when I turn the car on the temperature jumps to 90, then carry's on going as the car warms up to the end of the temperature gauge

I have read the ECU and the engine temperature is reported correctly, just the gauge is wonky

2) Injector light is on, the fault reports as air temperature sensor

can any one tell me where the air temp sensor is, and where to get a replacement from, and the coolant temp sensor for the dash, where is this bugger?

air inlet temp is in the throttle bosy itself.. can't say i have every tried to find a replacement, but i would start by checking the connector and wiring to it as i have also never heard of one failing either.

I found renewing the spark plugs reduced my running temperature by quite a margin.

Chris Watson on the facebook fiat group has the most selectas known to man for bits.

doesn't sound like its running hot, more that the air temp sensor is broken or plainly not connected or present.
The temp gauge issue is a first for me, again sounds like a wiring issue to me.

Just to follow up on this one, I replaced the air temp senser in the throttle body and it solved the injector light. I played it safe and did the HG as its not an expensive job. On closer inspection its the gauge or wiring for the dash temp gauge thats the issue.
I will strip and check but as a work around I have setup an additional gauge for it.

Getting there slowly, had a few other niggles but really enjoying being in a selecta again.
