It's dead in here.....

Well, I believe he had medical problems regarding his licence, hope he got that sorted

seen as no one else has said it, its probably because someone's brought up a thread again about why its so dead in here... lol.

this is a forum used for the bravas, bravos and mareas... i don't know but do you have one? i just think that this post might have livened it up a little here, but for the wrong reasons. if its not a thread about the car, or a car in general, and the person who started the thread doesn't own one, then its doing little more than becoming a ranting thread about why its so dead etc etc... nothing goods going to come of it. In fact as said before it doesn't look very good if a new user logs in and one of the top threads says its dead in here and goes on to become a bitching thread about why the forums crap.

Nobody (except you) mentioned the "c" word......you shouldn't make assumptions.

Well someone had to say car sooner or later, it is a car forum after all!!

I do try my best to gets the posts going, but when we have a step by step guide how to fix most common problems it doesn't lead to a long thread :)

I must say I find myself having to check in more often since said dark lurker is posting.....

Jordon, wise head on such young shoulders.... Qualities such as those will gain you more respect than a silly name under your login! :)

I reckon the main problem is that this forum has been going many years and in that time pretty much every problem has arisen. Any problems I have with my car is sorted pretty quickly by using the search, meaning I don't need to post asking questions. Even if I didn't use the search chances are I would be directed towards a previous thread with the same issues. It even says to use the search to alleviate repeated threads! This means that the depth of conversation often ends up as 'so...what's everyone upto?' which most users (who have been here a while) do on facebook or something, again meaning fewer posts.

Just my two cents, it's a shame really, it's gone from a car forum to more of a database of how to fix your car.

@TK yeah man i understand i wanted to see that thing built too but he did have underlying health issues.

I still think it would be a good idea to have other parts to this ere forum, ie, bikes, hobbies, shows, meets etc etc, maybe even a modeling section (i do alot of 1/18th modified models)

you know general stuff too, so it keeps eveyone happy, also one thing not in our favour (as other forums have) is we are a single make and only 3 models which is what makes this club, i am also a memeber of 3 other clubs and 2 of them are multimake and are more for a certain look rather than the car itself

thanks tommyk.

as said above the site is more of a database than anything else. the threads with the most interest have always been ones that are about modifying, and in my opinion heavily modifying. however the fact of the matter is the cars are becoming cheaper and cheaper and so people aren't putting money into them for things other than maintenance. another reason is that due to the rising cost of insurance people are modifying less and less as to be legal they really should be declared, which hikes up your policy. And yet another reason is that bravo's, brava's and mareas have always been rarer cars for modifying. That has always meant that modified items for them have been more expensive, and so people aren't putting the money into a car whats value is dropping rapidly, and rarely make it out of the 'bargain cars' section of the auto trader when for sale.

Its sad, as they are great motors, but its just the way it is.

in the past there have been members of the forum that have discouraged modifying bravos highly, and this has caused some people to leave and/or rarely post. There isn't anything anyone can do about it, its just the way it is and it can't be stopped. people who modify don't want to start a thread about their car when its going to get torn apart... but before anyone misunderstands, there is a difference between not liking someons car and expressing it and insulting them after their effort. Mind you things seem to have changed as cars have been sold on and members have moved on.

maybe the lads on here should start dedicated threads about their car and what their doing to it? maybe that would give the forum a new lease of life? and maybe encourage old members to log in and post to help new blood modify their motors?

Not a bad idea there Jords, a build thread for member cars (or ex-cars in my case) would be good I think.

The overall setup of the forum is very disorganised. It would be highly beneficial if the forum was split into sections similar to FF with dedicated areas for certain aspects of motoring such as mechanical, electrical etc. iirc there is an issue with changing the forum though, I think someone said that all of the threads since the start of the forum would be lost if this were the case?

I think the idea of build threads is a good one, it would help a lot of people with inspiration and ideas on what is possible as there aren't many modding options for the brav's unless you go OTT.

Every 6 months or so I pop back here and find the same old thread about how dead this place is lol, like a broken record.

Simple request lock this thread!! i think its attracted more interest than any other current thread!

I second that...

I think the thread may have served its purpose and is just open to silly comments now.

Locking thread as requested.
