Hi All,
New to forum but looking for some help.
I have a Hymer B584 motorhome built on a 2002 Fiat Ducato Base, Left hand drive model.2.8 JTD Engine.
I was having starter battery problems so had the battery tested and it was knackered.
Moved van from an upwards facing position to facing downhill to give myself better access for changing the battery.
Van has never had any problems other than the starter battery.
Replaced the battery and went to start the engine. Engine turned over very fast but would not start. Scratched head and removed battery to see if I had missed reconnecting any cables. All as should be. Engine tries to start but then just dies.
Problem traced to electric fuel pump not running. Don't know why it is not running. I have had the new fuel filter off and refitted it but it does not seem to be priming from the tank.
Does anybody know if I have to remove the fuel tank to get to the electric pump or is it mounted on the chassis.?
Also could the ECU be preventing the pump from running?
I am at my wits end with this.
