Hi All,
New to forum but looking for some help.
I have a Hymer B584 motorhome built on a 2002 Fiat Ducato Base, Left hand drive model.2.8 JTD Engine.
I was having starter battery problems so had the battery tested and it was knackered.
Moved van from an upwards facing position to facing downhill to give myself better access for changing the battery.
Van has never had any problems other than the starter battery.
Replaced the battery and went to start the engine. Engine turned over very fast but would not start. Scratched head and removed battery to see if I had missed reconnecting any cables. All as should be. Engine tries to start but then just dies.
Problem traced to electric fuel pump not running. Don't know why it is not running. I have had the new fuel filter off and refitted it but it does not seem to be priming from the tank.
Does anybody know if I have to remove the fuel tank to get to the electric pump or is it mounted on the chassis.?
Also could the ECU be preventing the pump from running?
I am at my wits end with this.

You've banged the inertia switch replacing the battery happens all the time. Its on the firewall behind the battery looks like an upsidedown relay theres a pushbutton on the bottom under the rubber cover push it up.

Update on Problem
New it had to be something simple wrong.
Behind the battery there is a collision shut off switch which I must have bumped when inserting the new battery. This had activated and shut off the power to the electric pump.
Found this info in another forum.
I have spent several hours trying to sort the problem and 10 seconds to fix it when I found out about the switch.
Now all I need to do is put everything back that I had stripped out trying to find a fault that didn't exist.
Hope this helps someone else if they have a similar problem.
