My Hymer B654 2800 JTD YOC 2001 engine is running well but with a cold or even hot engine between 2500 – 2700 rpm the engine losses power and hangs a bit. Once above 2700 rpm the engine runs ok again. This happens in lower gears but shows up the most in 3de gear. Below or above 2500 – 2700 rpm the engine has no problems. What can be the problem and how to solve?

Would also like to replace the distribution belt, I think you call it timing belt, sorry I am from Belgium and some technical terms are not mine in English. Had a Renault Master 4.5 ton camper with Iveco motor before; 450.000km so changed the timing belt a few times. Looking at the Ducato a lot more stuff is to be removed so I better well informed before I start the job.

Anyone who can help me on this part of the workshop manual? It is an airco version so can I replace the belt without disconnection the airco tubes?
Has the Ducato 2800 JTD YOC 2001 engine an automatic timing belt tension device or only a tension roll? If so, how to set the tension manual or which tension meter should I buy if needed?

Thanks in advance

There is a previous post on the Timing Belt which gives a step by step on the subject - https://www.fiatforum.com/ducato/94600-cam-belt-replacement.html ---- 18.04.07
Also see attached doc, between both of these should give you an idea about what to do. Sorry if the doc is bit dis-jointed as it is from different sections.
As for the power loss at specific rpm can't really help but will do further research.
Cheers
