Hi everyone!

I recently serviced my Fiat Grande Punto, and although there’s no maintenance warning showing, I’d like to reset the reminder interval to the default 30,000 km for peace of mind.

Does anyone know an easy way to do this? I’m looking for a reliable tool or method that works well with Fiat models to adjust the service interval. Any tips or recommendations would be really helpful!

Thanks in advance!

For the Panda you can vary theservice interval with MES. I dont know how far from Fiats specified value you can go before the system stops you,

MES is Multiecuscan software there is a current international supplier list on the general downloads tab on here.
Is there really no other way to reset the maintenance reminder kilometers? Do I always need an external device to do it?

I had trouble with mine and had to go and reset the interval. I believe once set it should then stay set at the desired interval reminding at the interval providing its reset after service. MES is very useful and I have had my money back on it many times over. As its easy to use and covers most if not all Fiats I have stuck to Fiat for all our cars. This setting is meant to be input at manufacture and not be changed. If the main dealers do service its not much of an issue and is no doubt intended to make DIY service harder.

Is this warning solely meant to notify when the mileage for service is exceeded, or does it also monitor oil usage within the vehicle's system? I’m tempted to leave it as is; it seems difficult to justify the investment in the MES device just for resetting the service mileage warning.

On 1.2 its just a reminder. You can specify the interval and set it. The car then reminds you when time and milage say service is needed. MES does a lot more than service intervals and milage reset. It can read error codes and suggest work to resolve them. Can graph sensor outputs as you drive. Can test all electrical components, give a/c system pressure, measure battery voltage, reset can bus system, (proxi alignment) verify distance travelled etc. Can rest fault codes etc
