Hi all,

I have a 2008 Fiat 500 and some days ago I did some test with multiecuscan, I think I did a 2015 proxy alignment while, obviously, I should have to do a simple proxy alignment for previous model like mine.
Anyway for some reason proxy alignment added an ETM to my car configuration and ODO start flashing because signal was invalid.

Anyone knows how I.have to do to remove ETM from my configuration? I didn't have any backup.

Tha ks

Hello,

Yes, the backup would be essential in this case. Have you tried to do the proper proxi alignment (with the correct model)? Strange that MES discovered a module which is not connected... Unless it is :D

What ETM stands for?

What ETM stands for?

I've tried to do a proper proxy alignment (for model before 2015) but it doesn't remove ETM. I think ETM is telematic module for restyiling model.
I have an android radio fitted with canbus module, maybe this module was configured for 2025 model and that's why proxy alignment added ETM to my car configuration.

I will try to make a proxy alignment with the radio powered off (I will remove fuse 36) ...

What model is your vehicle?

There should be a Proxi Alignment that better fits your year.
For instance the one highlighted in yellow.

My model is 2008 and i made for mistake proxy alignment 2014+, if I try the alignment you suggest doesn't remove ETM but I always get "invalid signal from ETM" and odometer flashing. My blue and me seems fine, I don't get any errors from it.

As long as I know ETM should be present only in models after 2014 (restyiling model) so I have to find a way to remove it.

You managed to do the proxi alignment through an unpowered OBD port? I also thing that AC node is a separate node that should be visible connected to CAN.

Yes you're right, maybe my schematics aren't correct, see attachments.

Obviously OBD worked fine and without F36 radio doesn't power up 😉

The OBD2 port needs to be powered up, those interfaces take power from the port.

So probably it's another fuse that powers it in OP's car.

I once had a magic power problem on the BCM, the port was not powered, so the interface couldn't connect.

As far as I can see, fuse 36 provides power to pin 16 of the ODB2 port. The other signals are not affected by this. If the scanner has it's own power supply, then this pin does not have to be used.

I've used OBDLINK Scantool (red interface with yellow fiat adapter), as far as I know this interface use OBD port power. I could check pin 16 after fuse remove just for understanding if fuse 36 power OBD port too or not.

I was just looking at this in the wiring diagram. I downloaded the manual from the internet, and I think it's for 2012 onwards, so it might not be completely accurate, although so far it's been OK for my 2008 500.
