I think my EGR is playing up and would like to blank it off to test it, but how the hell are you meant to access it?

I can see it from below the car but can't get to it. From above I can see a cover but I can't see how that is fixed. Other than removing the engine it looks impossible - unless you gurus know otherwise?
 
Very hard you'd have to access the fixing bolts blind and remove several other wires/pipes in the way to get good access
Allthrough blanking I off with put the EML light on and probably put the car in limp mode
 
Blanking wont put the EML on usually, removing it does, so if blanking, keep the valve connected.

It takes years of practice, swearing, lying on cold wet roads to get good and working blind to remove stupidly placed bolts and nuts. Just remember that you need to reassemble it too.
