How did you find Fiatforum?

Came into possession of a FIAT with some issues, was doing some research into it and this forum had some great advice. Thought I'd sign up as I attempt to repair it, in case the shared expertise of this website's members might save me loads of time and frustration.

Just interested, have never advertisied (apart from a few newsgroup postings)...

So how did you find us?

looks: momo twin 17" alloys, debadged, smoked headlights, black side repeaters, smoked rear clusters, midnight window tint
feels: apex 40mm lower springs, apex sports shock's, k&n 57i induction
sounds: pioneer deh-7400mp, pioneer tse-6995 (rear)
Found it from searching for information on Google relating to an issue I had with my ducato based Moho. Auto gearbox gears unavailable, check handbook error
Found lots of useful stuff from searching. Great Forum, very helpful community. 🙏

Welcome. Davrian? as in Davrian cars? now that could be interesting. Do you have one? If so what's the link with our world of Fiats? or maybe there isn't one? Do tell please.
Yes, as in Davrian car,

I have a road registered Mk6, one of 56 that were made, that's got to be re-built I've had it for quite a few years now. It was originally used by the first owner at Santa Pod in the road going classes, 2nd and 3rd owners were going to use it for rallying, but that didn't happen. I'm the 4th owner and got it to use as my next circuit car after running a historic saloon, but after getting a cage and new roof fitted at Darrian cars, the series we were going to run in withdrew it from the list of cars that could be used!
So it was put to one side and I think I'll just make it a road car now with a 998cc fast road type Imp engine.

So no Fiat connection unless I were somehow to fit a transverse set up into it.

Have had a few Fiats in the past though:
127, 903cc with a boot rather than a hatch, had two of these - great car's for round town and the odd trip up to London - but did they rust!
Fiat 131 super miafiarori 2.0 twincam - 4 door type great engine and brilliant tow car, wish it had been the racing 2 door
Fiat 131 1.6 estate - good tow car and practical for what I needed at the time
Fiat Ducato 2.0 JTD low roof SWB van - had that when it was 3 months old ex demonstrator and kept it for 16 years and 120K miles as a work van only got rid of it due to the next MOT was going to be very expensive. But it's still on the road now, as I saw it on the motorway a couple of months ago.
Wife has a Fiat 500 Therapy with just over 43k miles - great fun to drive and reminds me of the 127's

Now thinking about possibly getting a Panda to replace the 500 and have asked some engine questions etc. on the Panda section.

Lucky you. back in the 60's when I was at college in London learning all about the motor trade there were three of us students who were obsessed with drag racing and spent many happy hours up at Santa Pod. We would go up on the Friday night in my friend's mini van, the "trick" was to not be the one in the back! We'd camp out in the field to the left of the strip - in those days there were no bleachers or anything much at all by way of infrastructure. There were many weird and wonderful vehicles but I never saw a Davrian there. I'm also interested in Hillclimb/sprinting and there was a pretty quick Davrian I used to see at Doune from time to time.

I had a love affair with Imps for many years. the last one I had was an estate (a "proper" estate, not a van with windows) which was gifted to me when it failed it's MOT - spectacularly - so I slowly resurected it and drove it around as my daily driver for years. I've got a picture of it just after I'd resprayed it somewhere which I'll post if I can find it. At one time I had about 4 engines, 3 complete transmissions and a whole shed full of other bits. Then the kids started to learn to drive and a Panda was about the cheapest to buy and insure that I could find and so started our love affair with Pandas First one was a MK1 with the OHV engine (pre Fire) carburettor and points type ignition. The one we run today is a 2010 1.2 eco dynamic and there have been several in between including the purple one in my avatar picture which was a special edition Panda Parade. Over the years I've also been involved with a friend's ancient 500 (classic), another friend's Mirafiore with the standard OHV 1.6 engine - good car that was. My boy ran a Punto for several years until a mad woman tried to occupy the same roadspace as him - that didn't end well. The Eco Dynamic, which we call Becky, is getting a bit long in the tooth now and we'll probably replace her with a more modern 1.2 Panda when the time comes. Mrs J (wife unit) won't have anything else. she refuses to drive my Skoda Scala daily driver and I have to say that I find the Panda a hoot to drive.

先月ようやく納車された1975年製の126ファーストシリーズ。とにかく謎が多いのと、仲間が見つかるかなぁと色々ネットをクロールしてたらたどり着いたというわけ^ ^

I knew about the forum from when I had my Ducato from 2004 to 2020.

So googled it to check it was still about and thought there would be people on here who would give real user views on the 1.2 or 1.0MHEV, which they have.

Saw this Auto car review on the 1.0MHE which sums up what people have said about the engine compared to a late 1.2
Not worried about the bad points, as we are thinking "Panda" and we've had a 500 for four years and I still think the space inside a 500 is pretty good for the size of car and with the rear seats folded down it's surprising what you can get in it!

Hi Ben
Via Google
Would it be possible to set up some sort of gallery in 124 Spider classic for photos of completely original parts or systems on the car?
Nearly every UK car will have been modified so likely mostly people in the US with access to these cars
Its very difficult seeing what “original” ie out of the factory looks like and the various manuals don’t cover everything!
A few examples.. early cars were fitted with a front undertray/sump guard. I saw this mentioned fir the first time this week, I have owned a Spider nearly 20 years!
Also there is a plastic cover inside the boot to protect the tail light assembly from being damaged by stuff rattling round the boot.

Just an idea, may be useful for other cars too
Cheers

Great idea. I know very little about the spiders in detail but am very interested in Pandas and I know there have been multiple "special editions" over the years. For instance Felicity, the purply blue car in my avatar picture, is a Panda Parade.

PistonHeads was my path of discovery.

From a quick search, forums usually contain the best information and I am looking for information on issues I have with my Ducato motorhome. Other then that I am a proud owner of a 2013 500e.
