Well, I was directed here from the Ford Forum !
Asking questions soon about the 1.2 engine.
Quick question first. Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent but non vehicle specific code reader ?

Just interested, have never advertisied (apart from a few newsgroup postings)...

So how did you find us?

I was looking for issues with keys and transponders with my Fiat Ducato based Motorhome 2012. I hoped I could find some useful advice and help.

Found this site whilst looking for solition to ford transit problem withnthe same engine as my ducato.

Welcome, great attitude. Looking forward to reading more from you.

Daughter saved hard and bought her 1st car, a 2008 Fiat 500. I think we maybe rushed the purchase and naively believed the woman when she said the airbag alert of the dash could be easily solved with a YouTube trick..it seems that she lied and I think the car has been in an accident 😞😞

But... Main reason for posting is I borrowed the afore mentioned Fiat (Fergie) today and after stalling it 3 times the stereo started asking for a code...code is written in manual that came with car but doesn't seem to work 😶... I don't think o6have the skills to take stereo out so wondered how else I might get it's code.

Huge thanks in advance, TessTicholls xxxxx

The car might not have been in an accident, it's a common fault on these cars as well as 2012 on 319 Panda's & Ducato's for the airbag module to develop a fault, it's not as simple though as a YouTube hack, the module is in the centre of the the floor round the back of the dash, it can be a bit fiddly but its held in with some bolts & connectors, on a Panda it's 3 bolts & 2 connectors which is pretty much an identical setup to the 500, then send the module off to a specialist to be repaired & reset, providing the module isn't completely toast, then plugged back in, here is a link for a video for the process

When I was searching for how much the Fiat Panda went on sale for when it was launched in the UK in 1981.... the Fiat Forum came up in search results...

Found you thru Google and love the community vibe.. no question is a stupid question and answers are often at a level I can understand. So glad I found you as I've already saved a garage visit with a locked stereo . Simple problem but without you I would have paid much more for the solution xxxx
