Daughter saved hard and bought her 1st car, a 2008 Fiat 500. I think we maybe rushed the purchase and naively believed the woman when she said the airbag alert of the dash could be easily solved with a YouTube trick..it seems that she lied and I think the car has been in an accident

But... Main reason for posting is I borrowed the afore mentioned Fiat (Fergie) today and after stalling it 3 times the stereo started asking for a code...code is written in manual that came with car but doesn't seem to work ... I don't think o6have the skills to take stereo out so wondered how else I might get it's code.

The car might not have been in an accident, it's a common fault on these cars as well as 2012 on 319 Panda's & Ducato's for the airbag module to develop a fault, it's not as simple though as a YouTube hack, the module is in the centre of the the floor round the back of the dash, it can be a bit fiddly but its held in with some bolts & connectors, on a Panda it's 3 bolts & 2 connectors which is pretty much an identical setup to the 500, then send the module off to a specialist to be repaired & reset, providing the module isn't completely toast, then plugged back in, here is a link for a video for the process
