Tbh I suspect more than anything there are errors on the Fiat site. For instance the twinairs have height asjustable steering listed as standard and the 1.2's don't. The site is crap in terms of accuracy.
Not sure if you're having a dig at me or Fiat with that comment!Newsflash maxi
Fiat have forgotten more about product marketing of cars that you will ever know...

I've asked my dealer about the ACC being a standard option and he is checking with Fiat for me - I asked for it to go through for free if it's now showing as a standard option. I specified it as an option for my order - it was definately £265 on Monday and not showing as standard on the Configurator page under Full Details for the TA lounge
Will post when I find out either way.
I read your comments about friends of yours wanting to kill 2 birds with the one stone - buying a car for their son but also for themselves - a little ironic. For some it was buying one for their wifes but now the 'young ones' are becoming the excuse
Looking for some good 'shots' on the Twin Air & Twin Air + facebook has an entry (this may have been posted before)

That Facebook page reminded me of a post the other day showing Fernando Alonso driving a 500 TwinAir (I believe it was the same link actually).
Anyone know if he's actually part of a marketing campaign for the TwinAir, or was this just a one-off shot?
I think someone like Alonso could actually do quite a lot to promote the TwinAir model as a sporty alternative for young petrolheads. Maybe Fiat have a few tricks up their sleeve, but I think they will need to improve on that first advert IMO.
ffxmy originally posted the facebook URL. It would appear that the Pop TA is being dropped just like the Pop 1.4 was.
If you cann't follow the story on the most recent TV commercial (it is in Italian) there is a transcript below...

Yeah, good ad - sells the car for what it really feels to be aimed for.
The 500 range seems to have been "improved" again for some strange reason.
We started off back in 2007/8 with the pop, lounge and sport. Everyone liked that and you sold craploads of them.
Now if I go on the 500 configurator I'm confronted with a mass of models, some of them which 99% of the population would never want to own.
Firsty, there's the bicolour, seriously, are people really so stupid that they'll spend £1400+ on a pinstripe, a splash of another colour on top as well as heated mirrors and the horrible lounge alloys? This is a horrible model and seeing this will make people dislike 500's.
Secondly, the byGucci monstrosity. Seriously, nearly 15k just to have a silly stripe, some gawdy seatbelts and different wheel centres? What are you smoking? The byDiesel managed to be fairly subtle, this isn't. I guess that's the point, but there are only so many showybitches in the world and you will only sell so many of these things....
Thirdly, the new Twinair spec is a stupid name for a spec. It's got nothing to do with the twinair. Why don't you call it the 20somethingwithnotastewhodoesn'tcantbebotheredwreckingthecarthemselvessowantstobuyitalreadywrecked? Seriously, what posessed you to make a spec level which is more or less the polar opposite of what most 500 owners have gone for? Black wheels? The only sorts of people who put them on their cars are the people who simply can't bear to have something which is as it came out of the factory, so what do you do? Make it a factory option!
Get a grip! Why not try to offer things that current owners would like? Perhaps some more retro style options for the people who like that sort of thing? Perhaps offer a handling pack (you know, Koni FSD's?) and things which would compliment the design of the car or improve it..... perhaps even some newer designs of wheels?
Just seems to me that the flagship is sinking.....

...It might turn out that most people actually like the bi-colour as it's something you don't see very often. I love the Lounge alloys myself, as do a lot of other people.
You'd be surprised how much people are willing to pay for a label! A car like the 500 is a very fashionable thing, and a lot of 'arty' types will buy into it. As will a lot of trendy people who would be willing to pay extra just to have designer names.
So that the option is there? People might want the polar opposite of most 500s so that their car is different from the hundreds that are on the roads! Also, I know of plenty of people who have black wheels because they like them and not just because they 'can't bear to have something which is as it came out of the factory'.

I can see where Maxi is coming from and the choice is a bit bewildering but I reckon it will 'settle' down - it has to - too many choices increases the overhead and impacts the bottom line.
Personally I like the bi-colour particularly on the A500c - and yes I would drive a 500c but it would have to be the more manly A500c.
At a Classic and Vintage car show in Terenure in Dublin at the weekend quite a few of the cars had black wheels. They included a customised V8 Morris Minor Traveller and the 'new' RS Focus, Catherham, etc. They don't picture too well but look good in the 'flesh'.
I can see why Fiat are attracting this new market. At once stage white was been called the 'New Black' so what's the big deal if Fiat play around with the aluminium colour of the alloys wheels.
Re the Labelling e.g. bydiesel, Gucci, etc. individuals are prepared to pay extra - I for one paid OT price for a secondhand limited edition model since I'm a bit of a sucker for badges.![]()
I thought the same about the horrible pink one but they've sold well, apparently. You have to remember that we live in a country where people become celebrities for nothing more than drinking on television....
People have no taste.![]()
