Technical Help! Which oil??

I've downloaded the elearn CD from the site which has been incredibly helpful but there is conflicting info on what oil to use. I have a 2004 1.9d hightop and it seems that it recommends both 10w40 and 5w40. Could someone let me know which would be best?

I don't think you've got several days a year of below -15 degrees in Bristol, so you can go with the 10W40 :

Thanks mate! It just seems there is conflicting info in the second chart that doesn't make it clear on which application each should be used.

The Selenia oil they recommend doesn't seem to be available in the UK. Could you recommend a favourite alternative?

It's just a common knowlegde how to understand the oil markings / descriptions.

Selenia is owned / produced by Petronas, so they should be the same, but double check the car manufacturer requirements / classes on the Petronas products. From what I've read here there can be products marketed under Selenia brand that are not available as Petronas brand.
