I just bought my 500 - no owners manual. Pulled one up online, but I couldn’t find any info on these two buttons - they are located at the base of the parking brake - car is a 2013 Abarth. Thanks for your help. View attachment 464035
Thanks for the reply - switch does NOT trigger dashboard light - makes a hell of a sound when pushedThe forum Downloads section may have a Manual for you,
Not owning an Abarth I cannot help, it's quite different to my 2013 FIAT cars
Does the sliding switch trigger a Dashboard light.. Or Message?
Yeah tried the ejector button, no luckThey don't look factory to me
I do know one is the ejector for the passenger though![]()
I’ll check this out - thanks for the replyNeither of those look like original equipment switches. The silver push button certainly is not. I'd suggest that they are probably part of an after market security system like an immobiliser. This may have been disabled or removed. Not unusual on sportier models.
The only way to tell is to lift the panel and trace the wires . I suggest you leave it alone in case you accidentally immobilise the car. If you do look and the wiring is plain black or white that is another indication of an alarm or immobiliser. Makes it harder for theives to trace the wires.

I live in the U.S…so probably built in Mexico - thanks for the replyIs this a European built Abarth,
Or Mexico built like the Standard NorthAmerican 500?
What sort of sound? A warning / alarm or mechanical? Inside the car or outside? Thanks for the reply - switch does NOT trigger dashboard light - makes a hell of a sound when pushed- crazy
What sort of sound? A warning / alarm or mechanical? Inside the car or outside?
If it is an alarm noise outside it might be an anti-carjack device connected to the alarm.
Sounds more like an alarm when the black button is pushed – and it also does sound like it’s on the outside of the car not the inside. Thanks for your reply.
