Good day fellow Fiat fans:).

I'm having a little problem.

I bought a beautiful Fiat 500L from 2014 (1.4 Tjet 120hp) with less than 100,000 km on the odometer and in perfect conditionšŸ˜. I replaced the engine oil, filters, etc. myself as it has hardly been driven by the previous owner in the past 2 years and the oil has been in it for 2 years. Now I have bought the original gearbox oil, I can find the drain plug but not the fill plug. Normally with Tjet engines this is located in the middle at the front, perhaps this is different with a 6-speed gearbox?

Do you have any idea where the filler plug is located on the 6 speed manual gearbox? and are there things that I should take extra into account?

Thanks in advance fellow Fiat fans..

Greetings

John

I have successfully changed gearbox oil today on my 500L!
It`s a trap! :)

I was confused similar as you. I`ve studied many YT videos showing procedure on some Alfas with manual 6-speed C635 gearbox. Checked Eper showing filler 12 HEX plug on top of gearbox body. I was not able to find it, but there was one suspicious bolt on the side looking like a part of gearbox mouting. But it was not connected to any mechanical part. Just bolt with a E18 head (same as other bolts used nearby for mountig gearbox to the chassis) screwed into gearbox.

Long story short. Probably Fiat used one threaded hole in gearbox body used in other models for mounting the gearbox to chassis as a filler hole. Then the original bolt is used as a plug. Definitely it is a better solution than the plug on top. It is even accessible from bottom. For best access I recommend to unmount the battery and the battery rack.
