Don't sweat it Lots of people saying it will kill rubber First off it isn't actually rubber but a synthetic, EPDM or similar Second off, if you took the car to a garage, brake cleaner is more than likely what they would use and have been for decades

I took the drive belt off, and the noise is definitely still there
