A word of caution for anyone thinking of spending £5.99 on the Halfords Rainex equivalent – DON’T!!
I had to buy the Halfords equivalent when my local Halfords store ran out of ‘pucca’ Rainex. I spent about 4 hours yesterday polishing, waxing and detailing my car and left the windows until last.
I applied the Halfords rain repellent as directed on the bottle, worked it into a mist and then tried to polish it off the screen – at this point Rainex usually leaves a sparkly smear free screen – not the Halfords equivalent
.
I tired to remove the greasy rainbow sheen left on the screen for about an hour using all sorts of cleaning solutions, this bloody stuff will not clean off!
My advice is if Halfords runs out of Rainex don't be tempted to buy their stuff - use your windscreen wipers until its back in stock!!
