Re: gsr remap and induction

Speak to Angeltuning.....they claim to have it sorted. When I spoke to them they reckon owners always see an improvement in mpg as well as power. They also come to your house to do it.

They claim a lot but you never see the proof with a dyno printout :)

The 2.4 engine has got 16 ECU variants. We are able to map all of them and haven't got a problem with the mapping when the GSR induction isn't involved. The GSR induction kit is able to flow in excess of 80% more air than the standard kit without losing torque. Neither the CDA nor the DIA is capable of flwing anything near and is not a problem to map at all. Lack of time on the RR created some problems with the map at a load factor below 35%. At 1300rpm the map is slightly lean, which is the reason for the engine warning light to come on. This doesn't do any harm to the engine. It is just a nuissance to see the light on, which we are sorting out and will have corrected when the next car is available for the RR.

Re: gsr remap and induction

But will you come to my house in Cumbria and map it?;)

please dont wind him up, there is enough info an all the companies already on the forum, we prefer to keep each thread about the company in the title, it saves hassle.
if people want info about others they can use the search button

Re: gsr remap and induction

Youre no fun!!!!! I dont actually know that he definitely wont come to my house to do it......but I'm guessing that he probably wont now:D

Re: gsr remap and induction

Alpine I dont think he could transport a rolling road in a ching so the answer to that is definitely a big no no :p he isn't the type of tuner that comes out to where you live load a map and hope for the best ..I quite often ask him to estimate a calculation for me and always get only when I can prove it will I release the information to you :D

Re: gsr remap and induction

To answer the main question! Before i had the GSR kit installed, i was averaging around 23 mpg. Or 260 miles on a £47 tank of petrol. Ive just done a 320 mile round trip on a £48 tank of petrol, and the trip computer is showing an average of 28.7mpg. (dont know if the maths work out) But since the GSR kit my MPG has definetly improved. However i do have the dreaded engine light on again. I was one of the first to have the GSR kit installed, and can totally recomend it. I just need Pete to sort me out with a new remap now, and then i'll probably have more MPG, and more importantly more BHP. I think I have around 210 BHP at the moment

How did you get more petrol in the same tank?;)

On Thursday I will spend most of the day on the map on the 2.4. This time I will do the map myself. I will let you know what the outcome is.

Re: gsr remap and induction

Lol, think i might have used super unleaded, which may make up the difference in price?

Cheers for keeping us informed pete. Very much appreciated. Let me know if you need a test car one day?

GSR Induction & Remap

So, I've been thinking about getting the GSR induction kit for my car. but im thinking I might get the remap done at the same time. From what I'm led to believe there is a good differece...? Could people tell me what sort of difference there would be, i know the numbers (bhp increase etc) but what does this realy mean? is their noticable power difference? top speed? is fuel consumption increased? does it sound better?

So I found this site:
http://www.gsr-uk.co.uk/engineering/...t/fiat_sti.htm

But they also sell the GSR kit on www.performancestilo.com, and on there you get a 10% discount. But they don't do the remaps on there yet they are still "coming soon"

So my question is, Do I go for both the remap and induction kit? or just get the induction? and, where is the best place to get this stuff.

Cheers in advance ;)

re: GSR Induction & Red-Dot Remap

So what am i best doing then? buying the induction from performancestilo.com and then going to a rolling road day and doing the remap there?
Or can i buy the induction at a rolling road day?
What sort of price am i looking at for remap?

re: GSR Induction & Red-Dot Remap

get it fitted at RR day, loads of people seemed to help out with each other last one, Dave had his mitts on near everyones car lol, they sound fantastic and even without remap i had a noticable power difference, lot more bottom end,

Just got your message too, i havent got a clue if the K&n panel for a 1.6 would fit a 1.4, sorry:(
