Giugiaro really did create a master peace of design in the Grande Punto. You can see elements of mk1 Punto especially I think, the front fog lamps echo the mk1 and the sill area where the Giugiaro badge is, the design is very similar, Also the rear quarter panels...the way it wraps around to meet the tailgate.

What's your favourite design area of the grande punto?

Yeah when you look closely there is a lot of design in the gp! Hope it still looks as good in 10 years time!

And speaking of which were only a year or so away from the 10 year launch anniversary of the gp, sad to say there is no replacement for the gp...fiat what are you thinking.....

Look at the nose. Then look at the nose of a Maserati Spyder... :)

Probably a bit late for this thread but I noticed a small detail of design yesterday that I'd never noticed before. The flat surface of the wheelarch shape is continued into the door panel :)

I also like the highly functional shape of the door mirrors that are also used on the 500. I would suggest that it is probably best not to fold them too often though, as when I had a 500, I learned about the pressed-on retaining ring coming adrift for a member in the 500 section (jrkitching, I think).

The punto looks better haha

Sent from my iPad using FIAT Forum

Then Fiat ruined it by adding a Moustache and calling it EVO (n)(n)(n)(n).Though i'm sure they reacted to public opinion as I didn't take as long as I though to change it back :):):)

I still think the Grande is the best looking supermin around, even after ten years nothing has got close.
It's pure perfection from every angle, there just isn't a duff line anywhere; that's very rare.
In my eyes it's up there with the jaguar etype coupe, some early Ferraris and the 406 coupe.

Everything!

Never get bored of looking at mine. Still don't think it looks dated one bit and looks really elegant.

I like the long nose and sucked in cheeks look at the front.

Orange or red are the best colours, I'm jealous!!!

I couldn't agree more!! The design is absolutely stunning. It looks nothing short of perfection in any colour! :D

A triumph of affordable style. :)
