I take it you read the Sun? or the daily Mail to believe this ********

If he sold the gold then tell me why is this country still one of the richest countries on earth you muppet

This man led the world by example with his method if it was 'such a bad idea' why would the Americans, The French, the Germans and other notable nations copy this and now have a growing economy again??

Its your Tory boys who got us into this mess by selling everything off in the 80's and 90's leaving this country with no industry to grow and restore the unemployed back to decent skilled work

Bwahahahahahaha! :ROFLMAO:. Our economy is f***ed and we aren't even in the top 10 richest countries.

I suggest you do some research on economics before spouting out such tripe (y).

This nations debt is ever growing though, and has grown at a faster rate under this government if I am not correct, probably because Mr Cameron is still pumping millions of ‘aid’ into growing nations like Pakistan etc. That wouldn’t be a bad thing if it was going to those who really needed it, rather than propping up ‘emerging super powers’.
Don’t get me wrong I believe that mistakes were made under the previous government, however you cannot blame them for everything and the conservatives as well as yourself really need to come up with a better argument than ‘it was all labours fault’.
Also, let’s be realistic, even if this country had not hit a resection I highly doubt ‘we'd all have far more than 1.4 mil to give to charity’.
I am certainly no fan of Gordon Brown but why don’t we simply stick to the OP’s topic pointing out that Gordon Brown had donated 1.4 million of his earnings to charity… which was a nice, generous gesture.

Yeah nice, great, what a man. He's given money he could have earnt, to charity. I'm sure that his huge pension more than makes up for all he's lost out on.

All hail Gordon Brown, he's given a bit to charity so nevermind the fact that he financially ruined the country. It was Labour's fault, that much is clear.

If someone has done something truly reprehensible, why should they be praised for doing something good, a tiny something in comparison to the bad they have done? He should be in jail.

Amen - Just look at all the neurotic quango's, red tape, government waste and rediculous scheme's that where born under their watch. While the country was in a state of expansion and good economic progress they should have reduced borrowing and put aside a nest egg. Hell this is basically what they are telling us to do as the state pension won't pay for a packet of chocolate buttons when it's time to claim on it.

Laptops for the 'needy' was one that comes to mind lol. All of which ended up on eBay the next day.

Add the benefit culture, zero regulation of banks, the inefficient moneypit that is the NHS, rocketing executive pay, the list is almost endless.

He's only done it to gain some brownie points as he knows how much he is disliked.
Maybe some one should ask the opinions of all the poeple who have money tied up in the pension funds he robbed blind to cook his books?
