Hi folks, I have a 2007 Ducato based Motorhome with the 3.0 Iveco Diesel engine. It has the 6 speed manual box which is like to replace the oil in. I’ve already got the 75/85 oil ready to replace tomorrow. I was hoping for confirmation of the drain and filler holes if possible.

I’ve found on here that removing the battery and battery box gives access to the black hex bolted plug for filling and I have found one 8mm hex drain bolt at the lowest point of the box towards the rear….. would I be correct in saying this is the drain plug? I’ve also got thread lock ready to reinstall when done. I’ve also found that this box should take 2.9 litres, again am I correct here!

Thanks all.

Hi, drain plug is as you say hex head near lowest point on gearbox, fill point also hex headed at front of gearbox part way up. Unless you have a different battery setup from normal panel van conversion then removing battery and box will not help as they are on the opposite side of engine (in cab between seats) The fill bolt can be accessed from below to undo and then easiest to fill with a tube and funnel from above. Removing air filter box top cover makes it slightly easier but is not necessary. Fill amount I have used 2.9L as you say. It's a pretty straight forward job, using a rigid tube with a kink near the end that goes into the box makes it easier to fit from above. If your conversion has the battery in a different location than standard ie in front of engine then procedure may be more or less easy.

Phil, thanks very much, much appreciated. My battery is, as you suggest, in front of seats between driver and passenger so seems it is like most others. I’ll have a look today for the full point hex bolt.

Thanks a lot. ??

No problem, just to confirm by hex headed I mean hex drive (allen key) type. I recall the fill bolt was just above a sensor plug and access for removal was slightly improved by unplugging the wires to this.
