Technical Fuel tank size in 500 Abarth.

I know that the normal 500 has a 35 litre fuel tank. Does anybody know if the 500 Abarth has a larger fuel tank, and if so what is it's size?

My biggest grumble with the 500 is this; tiny Fuel tank.

Granted, it's a small car but with a range of just over 300 miles until the fuel light comes on is annoying.

Confirm -- Fuel light was on. 30 litres of Go Go Juice. So yep 35 litre tank

Any idea what the range is on an Abarth?

I think that's pretty good from a small petrol car, if you want range then go for a large 4 door diesel saloon with a nice big 70-80l fuel tank, but then it won't be a little hatchback will it? You've got to take one or the other. The Abarth shouldn't be too bad if you don't keep off the turbo. The wifes Subaru will pootle about quite happily at low revs and not use too much fuel but as soon as you boot it the needle visibly moves and I'm sure it's probably doing single digit MPG. Turbo's really are a great compromise between performance and economy, if they'd put a highly strung 1.6 or 1.8 in the Abarth the range would be a lot worse!

I got 430 out the tank on the Marea coming back from MITCar. But the it did cost £80 to fill.

My 406 will do 630 on a 70L tank of diesel but yeah it's not cheap to fill up.

My record in my old Clio 1.5dCi was 640 miles on a 45l tank. (It's now sitting on forecourt of Fiat Garage in Chippenham with new Gearbox).

The Mini clubman cooper S actually has a 5L bigger tank than the normal models, not sure about the hatchback, that might too.
Not amazing but it does show that atleast 1 manufacturer puts a bigger tank in its performance models. I guess that is BMW levels of detail and of course associated costs.

Incidently our panda does 420-470miles on a 35l tank. Sure it would do 500 on a good day but the girlfriend gets paranoid and fills it up. This must be one advantage of the multijet, higher cost of fuel but it does mean you have have to stop less.

Ive just filled my abarth up and got in 36 litres! No bips showing on indicator so totally empty

Guys this is a very simple argument.
The manual says 35 liters with a reserve of 5 liters which obviously makes
40 Liters!


The most ive filled in is 39 liters.
The abarth and the 500 would be the same.

It wasn't totally empty..... you can get 42 litres in if it's completely empty.
