Anyone got any advice on brands of wishbones? I'm being offered Bilstein, Moog, Meyle, QH, FAI and Flennor. Flennor are half the price of the Bilstein. 120 and 60 Euro.

Think I'm going to take the Flennor for a spin and see what happens. They're all probably made in a handful of shops East of here anyway. 107k miles , can't fault the originals. This will be the first suspension/steering/shock absorber replacements on this car apart from the rear bump stops. The V70 has had two ball joints, inner tie rods, rear shocks and wishbone bushes both sides in 140k.

Nct tester said the n/s balljoint was worn. Will be having a look tomorrow just in case it's tieroditis as has happened before with the other car.

Get a pair from same manufacturer, to avoid any dimensional discrepancies. There will be fewer manufacturers than brands. Cost to tool up for them means unlikely to make poor ones and waste tooling costs, so go with whatever you like.

Have you looked at Shop4Parts?

UK suppliers are so much better priced it would make you cry. The few I have tried don't ship across the pond. Will give them a whirl - thanks for the input.

Someone's going to ask you this sooner or later: but have you tried Big Mick, at Eurocarcare.net? He ships worldwide....

shipping shouldnt be a problem, im sure lots of members on here would happily forward and parcels for you if the seller wouldnt ship worldwide. 2 simple steps

1. you buy item and get shipped to member then they let you know when has arrived

2. you go to website like "parcel2go" and book for parcel to be shipped out to you by courier (dhl, tnt etc ) you pay for shipping parcel gets collected and its on its way

that way you get at uk prices plus a little bit of int postage
as your doing the paying online no need to be paying people handling charges etc

Jon, thanks a bunch for the offer. I think I'm sorted on this side for a few quid more but I've got the 'do it now' itch - an expensive medical condition :)

Job done. Working on the ground is a pita. The arb is the main problem. I opened all the screws and got it back by bottle jacking the centre bush brackets and tapping them in line with a hammer. The outer ends lined up easily enough using the car's scissors jack on the arb and the bottle jack on the hub for fine tuning. Mirror came in handy for the ends. Make sure the screws all run in easily by hand. She's sitting out in the rain now. Hopefully I'll remember to tighten the screws up before driving off tomorrow.
