Hi everyone,

I own a 2000 Fiat Ducato Combi 14Q 2.8TDI (engine 2.8 TDI - 8140.43, 90 kW) with a damaged front left steering knuckle. The VIN is ZFA23000005XXXXX (X230 generation, 1994-2002).

Key Technical Specs:
- Driveshaft inner diameter: 32 mm.
- Fixing nut: 41 mm.
- Braking system: Front disc brakes with ABS.

Technical Question:
If two Ducatos share the initial VIN digits (ZFA230), does this guarantee their steering knuckles are compatible, or should I also verify:
1. Exact measurements (32 mm/41 mm).
2. ABS type (sensor mounted on the knuckle).
3. Manufacturing year within the X230 range (1994-2002)?

Tengo un Fiat Ducato Combi 14Q 2.8TDI del año 2000 (motor 2.8 TDI - 8140.43, 90 kW) con la mangueta delantera izquierda dañada. El VIN del vehículo es ZFA23000005XXXXX (generación X230, 1994-2002).

Especificaciones técnicas clave:
- Diámetro interior del vástago: 32 mm.
- Tuerca de fijación: 41 mm.
- Sistema de frenos: Disco delantero con ABS.

Pregunta técnica:
Si dos Ducato comparten los primeros dígitos del VIN (ZFA230), ¿garantiza esto que sus manguetas sean compatibles, o debo verificar adicionalmente:
1. Medidas exactas (32 mm/41 mm).
2. Tipo de ABS (sensor integrado en la mangueta).
3. Año de fabricación dentro del rango X230 (1994-2002)?

My only thoughts on this are the heavier versions of the van had 16 inch wheels and stronger bottom suspension joints etc. Along with larger drive shaft joints and so on, so if yours has any of that then if there is a choice I would be guided by that.
The Chassis Vin Plate weight limits/spec. may be a guide towards this also.
I had a customer with the 1997 3.5 tonne Ducato Maxi van 2.8 idt 122hp and that was the more heavy duty version.
