Oh hi there I’m new to this forum and was wanting to find some information about changing the wheels on my 2007 Ducato Camper van The wheels presently on my van are 15 inch standard wheels has anyone tried to put 16 inch wheels on this van ? also how difficult is it to raise the and stiffen the suspension?
I find the ground clearance on this van a little low . The exhaust sometimes scraping over bumps also on the step .
Anyone else tried to tackle this problem and Raise the height?
Thank you all for your help and information

I fitted airbag suspension to the back of mine, gives 1.5-2 inches of lift and Kilen springs to the front which also give 2".
Ride is improved too. I'm on original 15" wheels.
If you change to 16" your speedo will be incorrect by a small amount but I'm not sure how much or if it will read faster or slower.

Thanks that’s great information, what was the cost of fitting the airbag suspension and Kilken springs ?

My experience of owning both 15" and 16" models is that with the 16" wheels the speedo is accurate whilst with 15" ones it overreads by about 10%. This was confirmed when I replaced my 15" wheels fitted with 215/70 tyres to 16" fitted with 225/75 ones. 16" alloy wheels are standard or options on many models of motorhome and Fiat confirmed to me that there were no modifications from standard in either case.

Air suspension kit was about €400 and i fitted myself in a couple of hours. Really simple.
Kilen 12181 springs were about €140 a pair and mechanic fitted them.
There are other brands the same length as Kilen

Hi Guys not sure if you can help on the 12181 springs. I have the light chassis and want to fit these to my Boxer 335 but it is saying there wont fit so not sure as the wire is 18mm. Are all the fitments the same on the shock leg to allow the thicker spring. Not sure if you guys had the Maxi or light chassis. I am am up plating to 4 tonne so need heavier springs. Any help welcome. I will be putting air bags on the rear,
