We have a 2004 Ducato that's been converted to a campervan by Adria.

Recently, on particularly bumpy dirt roads in Portugal, we've hit a few larger rocks, and ended up breaking the manufacturer skid plate.
I've since swapped it for an aftermarket steel plate, and am very happy with the results, but would like to avoid hitting things in the first place so am looking at increasing our ground clearance front and back.

I'm not certain whether our existing springs have degraded and that's why we're low to the ground (particularly at the front); or if we're just driving roads far too bumpy (how would one tell?).

Additionally, since we plan to travel to much colder climates this winter, we need winter tyres.
So have been looking at mild all-terrain tyres that also suitable for use in winter.

What options are there for increasing ground clearance?

What's the largest tyres that fit an MK2 ducato, would fitting slightly larger tyres than rated increase ground clearance?
Any particular tyres you'd recommend?

I have an Adria Coral on an X244, I can measure the height as a comparison if you wish.
Where is your van registered? This may limit the wheel and tyre choices open to you

It's registered in Belgium. Measuring your clearance would be great if you don't mind, I'll get out a tape measure at the weekend and see what height we're at.

See attached for heights from road level to the top of the wheel arches.

It does have an after market airbag system on the rear but it doesn't appear to sit noticeably higher than others I've seen and increasing the pressure makes no appreciable difference either.

Also, a portion of the technical certificate from my van. It's registered in Spain and as you can see I am limited to two sizes of tyres (I can't see me ever wanting any different size and it can be changed at a cost). This may not apply in Belgium.

I'm interested in the skid plate you mentioned, I've not seen one on mine.
