Technical Fiat skudo Tyrol camper van 2000

Hi we need help we have the above camper and it has an intermittent stater issue. The van engine when going runs like a dream. Then we stop and it won’t start. We have anew battery. Some one suggested it could be the ECU or immobiliser. Which should we start with and how?

I assumed the 2000 in the title was for the production year of the van, wasn't it?

You gave not much details on the issue.

Could also be a problem with the starter itself, which I think would be the most probable cause.

Check the earth points and cables, too. Especially the one from body to engine / gearbox.

You. The year is 2000 and also the engine. It went fabulous last week stopped for lunch won’t start again. Just won’t kick in sounds like it will but then nothing. An engineer checked everything fuses, nothing showing on the diagnostic. They suggested it was a loose wire or the immobiliser. Got a rescue truck home. When the van came of the back of the truck it started. Went for a couple of days now it’s doing the same again. We had the crank shaft sensor changed last time this happened, we have a new battery but nothing is working. Sadly no one wants to look at it due to its age.

Is the immobilizer light on the dash when you're trying to start the car?

Check the linked documentation, it's a workshop manual, it contains wiring diagrams, descriptions, probably also some troubleshooting.
