My heater on the fiat punto stopped working. On inspection the little plastic plugs that fit into the speed control resistor were broken as one had split in half.

I purchased this relacement harness to fix it

All okay for a few days but then the heating became intermittent. The plugs are melting a little and have burn marks on them. Serves me right for buying a cheap part.

There are many of these kits about but they all look the same to me. Has anyone purchased one without any problems?

Also struggling to find the original plugs/cables as I'm would prefer to use those if possible. If anyone know where to get them that would be useful.

If anyone ever has the same problem and stumbles across this thread then the best bet is not to use any of the harness fix kits you find on Amazon/Ebay. They are rubbish and are very much a temporary fix.

Follow the advice given in this thread

Fitting Insulated spade connectors to the existing wiring and plugging these into the resistor is a much better solution. A little bit fiddly to plug the connectors in but overall a much better solution and my heating is now working again. You may find it is easier to buy some additional wire to extend the current wiring in the car, I decided to do this as it was far too tight to just add the connectors to the existing wiring once I cut off the old connectors.
