Hi all,
Recently, I have been searching high and low across the web and in real life to find out a part number / name for the weird T peice that connects to breather pipes to the air filter housing. It’s like it doesn’t exists!
The end that go into the air box housing is blanked off apart from a hole that runs through it . The other end, I believe is a 20/25 mm inner Diameter for the breather hose into the engine intake. the middle spoke is probably about 8mm? Please see photos attached.
The smaller plastic middle part has snapped off on mine so the slimmer, longer breather pipe that runs down the back of the engine can no longer connect. It’s now just a nub.
I have seen secondhand air filter box units on EBay but a lot seem to have suffered the same fate. My car runs okay without it but I’m sure it’s there for a reason as there is a vacuum being pulled.
1) anyone know if there is a replacement part for it ( without buying a second air filter box) available or is it a thing that is / something that shipped with originally with the air box.
2) what does the skinny breather pipe do and how important is it?
Any ideas on this would be really appreciated,
Thanks,
Jerry.
