Fiat Ducato 2014

Hello,

at the dealership.

I needed a spare for my 2011 x250. The dealership gave me an absurd price (400+ EUR + VAT). I've checked a reputable local locksmith, he was down to like 200 EUR. Much better :D

I was like 3 years ago.

I searched for a couple of things over the internet and bought an x250 pre-programmed Magneti Marelli PCB. A keyfob. A license for MultiEcuScan and a bluetooth interface compatible with FIATs (and Fords). For a little less ;)

A year later a friend of mine was looking for a key for his 500. Same type. The pre-programmed PCBs were out of stock. I contacted the guy I bought mine from a year earlier and he confirmed the pre-programmed PCBs are not available anymore. He told me that he would be able to pre-program a virgin one IF I will send him some data from the BCM. This data is however not to be read with MES nor AlfaOBD. It's somewhere deeper, available with other tools. Which I don't have.

The above was for the x250. And a complete keyfob. I don't have any idea if they changed anything in the x290 model, however I assume they didn't. FYI 2014 is the year they changed the model. And it's hard to say which one do you own.

Another question is if you just need to have a spare (like me) or there's something wrong with the one you use.

There are keyfob housing (empty ones) available all over the internet. The rubber buttons are also available separately.

There are two independent functions in the keyfob - the central locking (which is powered by the internal battery and operated by the buttons and microswitches underneath, on the PCB board) and the immobilizer (powered by induction from the antennae which is around the ignition switch). Both are to be programmed separately in MES.

If you really need the whole keyfob and have one working, try finding a locksmith that will make you a copy of yours.

Thank you for your help.
Could you please give me the address or a telephone number of a dealership that can make me a new central locking key.
