Hi to everyone,
I need some help
Can anyone show me a diagram of the brake vacuum pipes and where they go from the pump,or could someone send a picture of their layout please
I have just rebuilt the engine on my 2001 fiat ducto 1.9td motor home and can’t remember where all the little vacuum pipes go!!!

Hello,

I don't know if you have seen one of these:

eLearn module contains all technical information.

Looking at the file names, they are more likely to be for the post-lifting model, but I doubt if FIAT changed anything on the brakes. It's worth checking.

Again, for the eLearn module, the download consist of 5 zip files. You need to download all of them, unzip (for example using WinRAR or 7zip) starting with file number 1, you will get an iso file. It's an image of the FIAT CD. You need to mount it in the virtual CD drive (I'm using UltraISO), then install it on your PC.

eLearn requires the CD to be inserted while in use, to you need to mount it to the virtual drive everytime prior starting the application.

From Wikipedia, a 2001 1.9TD Ducato will have a PSA DHY engine, which has mechanically controlled injection. Not being familiar with the DHY engine, I am struggling to understand why it should have a multitude of small vacuum pipes? By way of comparison my 2.8jtd only has a vaccum pipe connection between the vacuum pump, and the brake servo.

Perhaps as intimated by @the green vanper , instead of vacuum pipes, I should be reading hydraulic pipes? If this is the case, then after a brief inspection, I doubt that eLearn for the x244 will help in matching the hydraulic pipes to the ports on the brake master cylinder.

It should be noted that the x244 differs from the x230 by more the a redesigned front end. Gearbox, and particularly electrical wiring are significantly different.

Aren't those engines covered in the eLearn? Ford's and Iveco's ones are covered by the x250 eLearn.

If the 2001 model is still the x230, there's also a workshop manual available in the download section of the forum:

The 1.9TD was only offered on x230 vehicles. Only the 2.3jtd, and 2.8jtd diesel engines were available on x244 models.

If as suggested we are talking about brake hydraulic lines, and not vacuum pipes, which the OP has yet to confirm. then perhaps the x244 could serve as an example, but it has five (5) hydraulic pipes donnecting to the brake master cylinder. Thes pipes supply dual circuit front brakes, and single separate circuit rear brakes. I di not know the cinfiguration on the x230. A quck search on eLearn failed to reveal an overall pipework diagram.

The x230 workshop manual is fine if you are fluent in German, which I am not, but diagrams are OK. On the translated English version, some of the diagrams have suffered in the copying process.

Google Lens offers live translation of documents scanned by the camera lens :) You can also copy / paste the text both original and translated.

Hi again thanks for all your help but I haven’t explained well
There is a clip on pipe that goes from the vacuum pump to the brake servo, this pipe has a tee piece in it,a pipe connected to the tee piece leads off to a small non return valve and continues on to a small sensor then from there I have about 14inches of pipe to where??? I don’t know
