its a little plastic square button on the left (drivers side) by the seat adjustment handle and on the right hand side (passenger side) seat adjustment handle. if you get on your knees out side the car and put your head in the footwell and look at the seat (as if you where looking underneath) you will see it close to the centre console

yeah i just ran out the office to have a look lol it was eatin away at me. i'm not sure if they work tho... cos my bum didnt get hot when i went out in it earlier lol.

Do you know if the corolla gear knob fits straight on or does it need all different adaptors and things? are there any other super cool features with the bravo HLX that i might have missed?

Is the marea HLX the only model with the decent centre console or can i just stick any one in there??
they all have the arm rest centre console but the colour of the plastic varies on age, the later grey is much better than the earlier blue.

Does the corolla gear knob fit straight on or did you bodge it on some how? lol
it is a screw fitment so i used plenty of PTFE tape around the gearstick and then screwed it on.

REALLY!! haha i wondered why the driver side light is always on but the passenger side isnt :S haha is the button on the plastic or actually inside the seat itself? i don't know if mine works or not to be honest.. lol
the button is square black plastic thing all by itself on the front of the seat. you cant miss it.

So i'm guessing that you went with the grey instead of the blue and it still only cost you £10?

PTFE tape? expensive? lol and i'm guessin you just wedged the knob on?

PTFE tape is that white stuff plumbers use. i applied a good few layers to the gearstick and then screwed the knob on tightly.

argh you are a genius! haha where did the gear knob come from? and what about the gaitor? does it just clip in like normal or did you have to separate the original one from the original knob? i cant wait till pay day haha!

i got the gearknob off ebay, i just checked and there are none listed at the moment.

i kept the original gaitor,. to hold it up i chopped the bottom part off the original gearknob (the bit the gaitor clips on) and slotted that on the gearstick under the new gearknob. worked out very nicely.

JUG! stuff the customizing for now... I have a big problem!

Driving home from work last night, my car cut out. It was almost like it reset completely because the trip computer and the radio clock both reset. The ABS and fuel injector light stayed on until i pulled over, turned the ignition off and started it again. The car turned over as if the batter was going flat...

Anyway, i got home and when i went to go back out in it that evening, it wouldnt start. it seemed like the battery was flat. i bump started it down the road and drove to my girlfriends. It sat there for the evening.

When i got back in it to go home later that night, it turned over very slowly and then i heard a grinding noise. i tried once more and it started as normal :confused::confused::confused: and drove home fine.

When i got up this morning to drive to work, it started fine again! And then conked out about half a mile down the road. Where i had the clutch up it just bumped again automatically and again the clocks reset. I got to my girlfriends (I give her a lift to work too) and opened the bonnet to see if i could see anythin blatantly wrong, but nothing  When we went to get in the car, i turned the key and it juddered, again as if the battery was flat. So i turned the ignition off, tried again, and it started fine! i couldnt risk breakin down at work so i took it back home and now im in the bloody jeep :mad::mad:

Is this a common fault? surely not? its gonna cost me a shed load... isnt it... :(

check the main earth strap from the gearbox to the chassis. if it looks excessively corroded or frayed try adding a new earth (£5 for a universal earth strap at a motorfactor)

is that all it could be?? i'm taking it over to my friends garage tonight to plug it in to a diagnostic machine, so i'll make him check that for me (y) is there anything else you can suggest for me to pass over to him? I'm really panickin about it haha and i hate usin the jeep as an every day car!

but i can't get the car there any other way but drive it.. :(

WHAT AM I GONNA DO!! i hate cars when they go wrong :(:(:(

oh no! lol i can see this going horribly wrong, because i am getting it done privately it cant be left there if the repair doesnt work! i think im just gonna buy an HGT lmao

i bet it will! haha this is my luck we are talking about, i had to spent £5k in repairs on my punto sporting mk2 in 1 year! :bang: i could of bought a brand new car with that money! Is there much that it could be tho? i'm hoping the diagnostics can bring the tick over down too...

high tickover will be a vacuum leak on the intake, or a dirty throttlebody, or a faulty idle speed controller. diag cant affect it.

£5k in repairs is a bit crazy! even a new engine and a full respray wouldn't cost half that much so i'm scared to ask what you spent it on

See what i mean about how good my luck is? lol its still cutting out too, what would you suggest doing??
