We've had this issue 4 times. The car is 8 months old and we bought it 2 months ago. The car gives a warning that it is going to shut down and that you should pull off the road. It then does shut down. See the attached photo of the dashboard.
The charger cable shows up in red as a warning on the dashboard. After a few minutes the car will restart. It seems to happen randomly. A local garage could not replicate the fault but it has happened twice since they gave us the car back.
