Technical Fiat 500 radio replacement

Hi all, my first post.
I have a fiat 500 Riva 2017 and have just been quoted over £2700 to have the unconnect radio system replaced as it keeps switching on and off and has no volume control etc.
It is the 7 inch screen and I have seen one on EBay that has the same first four digits as my serial number so I think it is the same.
However it has no code. Is it possible to obtain a new code for this system or will I be wasting my money.
It is a continental mopar version.

Not a 5 door mpv..


I have not seen your issue reported on here, but it doesn't sound any different to my 2018 lounge

A New unit may need a "relearn" to keep the vehicles CanBus happy,

But that is NOT expensive

The car is a 2 door hatchback.
When I was talking to the fiat dealer who was trying to sell me the new one he said Fiat need the vin number of the car when ordering a new radio. No idea why.

I think that's the serial.

The model number should start with VP1 or VP2 then usually ECE or EMEA in it.

Can you confirm that whilst the overall screen is around 9 inches diagonally it is the picture screen of 7 inches in the measure used?

I've just checked and I did another one of those the other month (312 dab nav), it needed method two though (open the unit to get the qr code from the motherboard)

There was a year when that switched. So as long as you're comfortable doing that, it can be unlocked.
