I have just bought a new Fiat 500 but am not new to Fiat ownership. I had a 600 in the late 1960s and a 128 in the 1970s.
Regarding the new car, does anyone have any advice on MOPAR?

Hi :)

mopar is the preferred parts company..

Are you talking 'accessories'..??

Genuine mats are pretty good.. but generally the floorpan shapes last a decade or more..

So there will be a mass of alternative suppliers

For my recently purchased 2018 I wasnt prepared to pay @£70 for something that used to cost below £20

So bought a set from a breaker.. minimal wear and £18 delivered..

Plenty good enough to keep the factory carpet clean and tidy

Check 'partsworld' website for Genuine issue items... and Shop4parts for better value :)

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. My query really related to whether or not it was necessary to register with Mopar when you buy a new car. I suspected that it was in order for them to market accessories, but there was also talk of accident assistance.
I think that I can probably forget about it. Funnily enough I have just ordered some car mats on line for £23. I will let you know if they are any good!
Regards
Charlie

No problem :)

How are you finding last years purchases?
The car mats I bought from a company appropriately named CarMats are very good for the price. An excellent fit and they look fine. Too early to say how well they will wear but for £23 I think they are a good buy.
As for the car itself my feelings are mixed, but generally positive. I find the lack of power requires a different style of driving, and caution when you are joining a fast road from a short slip road. I also find the instrument panel difficult to read in some lighting conditions - it is too small, too busy and the orange-coloured display is poor. On the plus side I find the car very comfortable, great to drive once you get going, good wing mirrors, good visibility, and a surprisingly large boot. I am, however, seriously considering getting a space-saver spare wheel as I just do not like having the option to put on a spare in the vent of a flat tyre.
