Greetings fellow Fiat friends.

Just found your site through another and thought I would post details of an event that is planned for May 2007 in the South West of Ireland.

Four days of spectacular and scenic drives around the Atlantic coastline with good food and beverages each night in a comfortable friendly hotel.

Lots of enthusiast chit chat and the opportunity to meet up with the West Cork classic run (over 100 vehicles of all types).

This is the first of it's type and is specifically for the Fiat 131 Mirafiori. We are aiming to have a world record of 131s attend on 20th May. Currently we have convoys arriving from the South of England and the European mainland. As well as the many cars in Ireland. If you are the proud owner of a road going 131 come along to the best ever event for this car.

Full details on the website and we'd love to have some Scottish visitors.

Any queries or help needed with travel or accomadation just get in touch. I'd love to help.

Cheers for now. :)

hey, welcome to Fiat scotland.

Stunning cars there, always remind me of mk2 escorts, although better looking.

Im sure you dont want us young' uns trailing behind in our wee 1.2 Puntos etc ;)

Thanks for the welcome guys - And the Sticky status - I didn't expect that sort of treatment!

A lot of people have asked "Is it just for 131s?". And we always feel a bit churlish saying yes as the purpose is to see how many 131s we can get - If the event is diluted as a Fiat event we wont attract the people who are driving very long distances to join us. We have had serious interest from Greece/Poland and even Australia although the furthest I expect anyone to travel from is Hungary.

Part of the motivation is as an anti-dote to the rows of MGs/Cortinas/Morris Minors that we see at traditional classic events in Ireland. All worthy cars but we want to do our own thing for a change.

The top picture was taken at an Italian car event in March near Dublin last year. With no planning 5 131s materialised  so we thought that if we put some effort in we should be able to better that.

The second photo is MY CAR. :D A real minter with only 20k miles from new. Zero rust, new interior and very original. Found it in Frankfurt last year after 6 years looking for the right car.

This is a photo of one of the roads that we hope to negotiate.

Stunning Punto by the way - Congrats on such a clean look.

Hey man again as the rest say welcome to the site.

That is gorgeous, loving the color in particular (plus at those mileages it must have been locked in a garage for at least longer than I have been alive :lol :)

Hope you get a good attendance and remember and keep us posted of any pictures etc from the meet - out of curiosity where abouts in Ireland are you planning on going to/from? Roads over there are amazing, spent a fair bit of time in Donegal (but the road conditions can be less than desirable)

Again - welcome

The event is now over and represented one of the best weekends in our lives - Everyone who attended went home smiling ear to ear with plans for 2008 and 2009 (35th anniversary of the Fiat 131) already being formulated.

In total 15 Mirafioris turned up from all over western europe and reports are beginning to appear on the official website.

The event is already on Youtube for moving pics - Enjoy.

No problem - just watching the video on Youtube, you should post it in our You, Choob section :) Nice choice of music!

Who knows maybe see some of you guys at one of our meets sometime!

Following on from the unprecedented success of this year's 3ma meeting in Ireland, we have decided to hold next year's meeting in Scotland!

Friday 16th to Monday 19th of May 2008 are the dates to mark in your diaries and head to Scotland for 3ma08. Plans are progressing steadily and we expect to stretch from our chosen base in Inveraray, the Argyll region's former Royal Burgh in Western Scotland, to the mountainous Highlands discovering a land of lochs, mountains, history and much more.

We look forward to testing cars and drivers on roads like the Inverfarigaig Corkscrew, the aptly named road built in 1815, which twists up deep into the wild by the side of Loch Less and is more difficult to drive than to say!

We’ll be able to drive the tightest and steepest set of hairpins you can imagine where most have to do three-point turns while the rear wheel drive 131s will simply use power oversteer!

On Sunday 18th May we'll have our static display show of Fiat 131s at the Falkirk Wheel.

We are looking forward to meeting all our friends from the last 3ma and also looking forward to making lots of new 3ma friends at 3ma08.

For more information and details of our chosen accommodation and special inclusive deal please visit our dedicated website at http://www.131mirafiori.com

Hiya,

That's some good news - should be an interesting event and we'll maybe catch some of you guys on the roads! Maybe even turn up at one of the planned meets etc if theres a general fiat turn out.

IIRC that middle Sunday in may is usually around the time of the St Andrews Italian day? Or is that the end of the month? Maybe someone can help me out here?

Just refreshing this one and an update that dates and hotel are finalised and routes almost done as well.

Hoping to congregate at the Falkirk wheel on the Sunday 18th May.

We are looking forward to some of the best roads in Europe. :D :D
