Hi, i have a fiat ducato 250 2,3 2008mod.

I just got a yellow motorlamp and the error code p0016. I have changed the crankshaft sensor and the cam sensor. And i have checked the timing belt, but the yellow motor lamp will not go away and the car wont start.

The yellow motor lamp came yesterday. But there was no problem of driving it or stop and start it

Please help

Model
Ducato 2.3 multijet
Year

From my code tables
P0016
Timing/RPM Synchronisation
P0016
Crankshaft Position Camshaft Position Correlation Bank 2 Sensor A
P0016
phase offset between the sensor and speed sensor, Diagnosis
P0016
Crankshaft Position Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor A)
The engine wont start with a dead crankshaft sensor. the the camshaft sensor takes over the timing.
The camshaft sensor can be incorrectly fitted, the alignment is important.
Off the wall idea the camshaft chain (on rhs connecting 2 camshafts) may be an issue.

I believe some universal code readers often missread Fiat codes.

Assuming the codes are correct (not a micky mouse ebay $10) then since it started yesterday with old cranshaft sensor but not today i would check both crankshaft sensors and probably fit the old one also check cable for +5V and 0V. I have read the fitting of the camshaft sensor can also cause grief. Also check cable.
