Just fitted a new CPS & still no joy,

All the Timing on the cambelt is spot on,
When trying to start the car with the foot on the acceleration pedal the airfilter is popping which im not sure if this would be anything but just mentioning.

and do a compression test AND a vacuum test if possible

Had my mate look over it, ( He is a mechanic not just some who doesnt know what hes doing lol )
He doesnt think anything is wrong with the timing or valves,
Timing is spot on as he looked at that & the lines line up perfectly,
Going to see if theres a spark, if there isnt then i going for the camshaft sensor to see if that gone,
does seem very strange how it just cut out & now wont start.

Thought i had done the basics, Iv Done:

Cleaned the earth cable from battery to gearbox
Changed the CPS
Checked to see if fuel was getting through
Checked the timing to see if it all lined up
Cambelt is new

What else apart from this should i be doing??????

But, compression test is the obvious next step.

Will be crankshaft sensor (if no fuel and no spark) not camshaft sensor (don't think that engine has one).

Those engines (essentially the Alfa 16v twin cam) do not suffer idiots (or overdue cambelt changes!) gladly.

Cambelt is new, but who fitted it?

I havent taken the injectors out but took the line on the rail & fuel was getting through,

There is a camshaft sensor as its behind one of the top cambelt pulleys as iv taken the cover off to check to see the timing & thats all spot on,

Havent done a compression test yet but will do
Also going to check if theres a spark

The engine had a full rebuild due to the cambelt snapping,

The Alfas, at least, use locking tools which bolt the camshafts into position. Fitting a belt on these without the right tools (even different engines use different tools because the cams are a different shape!) is a recipe for disaster. They're fussier by far than the 16v FIRE engines.

Compression test if it sparks.

Cambelt breakeage on the FIAT/Alfa twin cams almost always results in bent valves and dinged shell bearings. You also need to check for damage to the pistons, valve guides and valve seats. The manufacturers quoted a cam belt replacement mileage which was nearly twice what it should have been.

When the cambelt snapped it did the pistons & valve in which resulted in them being replaced & £800 later the car has been running fine up N til not

I have replaced the spark plugs recently with some what cheapy one would that make any difference, id say they where changed about 400-500 mile ago,
