Technical Engine Tuning?

I've been thinking of trying to squeeze a little more power from my Barchetta. I've been looking at a remap and BMC CDA filter (all done by www.angeltuning.co.uk/ ). Has anyone done similar work? Any advice? My B has done 110000 miles, would this be problematic to tuning?

before chip tuning i will rather improve/replace some vital parts...
Here is 14 HP = 600-700€ and that's maximum for remapping... to expensive if you ask me... turbo is real thing! +50 HP

Are the Barchettas remappable? I haven't seen them listed anywhere.

they are but, barchettas have Japanese (Hitachi) and other fiat's have German (Bosch) electronics system... i asked few "remapers" and they said that they cant do remap because of Hitachi... they probably doesn't had tools for hitachi.

So it made a noticeable difference? Was it worth the money? Roughly how much did it cost?

Hi It increases bhp by 14 cost £250. Made a difference in driving much better. Not all b's can be remapped. Ones with the ecu in footwell can but ones in engine bay can't.

You should be able to remap a HGT, same engine as the B. I've seen the HGT listed as mapable on some sites too

Its got the hitachi in the engine bay, reddot can't do it.

Ask your local independent, as I don't think the Hitachi is a rare unit

I had mine re-mapped and CDA'd by angeltuning. I never got it to a rolling road but it made a huge difference.

Several people have reported that 153bhp is possible, although you may need a CAT back, like Supersprint and possibly to upgrade the fuel pump.

In terms of CDA: Technically it should be better as it sucks cold air in, whereas even cone filters with a cold air pipe won't draw in cold air in a traffic jam.

However, getting the CDA to fit well into a older Barchetta was a pain and so it may be better to get a GSR kit/re-map fitted at Red Dot. Make sure you've had your exhaust done first and then you can see the difference on the rolling road.

As I said at the beginning, it made a huge difference in terms of drive-ability and the car picked up better in higher gears.
