Didn't sound like it would work as the engine wouldn't have cranked if the earth was that poor? but was worth a try as it's so simple to do.Ive earthed the engine block taking place of the snapped earth strap. Still doesn’t run.

There is a separate earth lead from battery to chassis which was okYou cannot IMO replace the orignal earth straps, as the original earth goes from battery to chassis, then chassis to engine. Whilst you have provided a good earth to the engine, you haven't supplied a good earth to chassis, which many ECUs depend on.
Ah, ok. Did you clean up the connections? There is a separate earth lead from battery to chassis which was ok
Yes, this us how:is crank sensor an issue worth taking off,? Can it be tested with multimeter?
i did a multimeter earth test fineAh, ok. Did you clean up the connections?
i did a multimeter earth test fine
Its to see if connection is clean, continuityNo good. The small current from a multimeter will pass through, and give a satisfactory result, but a full load current still won't pass without an horrendous voltage drop.
FIAT petrols are Belt driven..Its chain, there is no spark
I know we've got past thatFIAT petrols are Belt driven..![]()

I've edited the earlier post so that future readers aren't confused by it.I know we've got past that
Still no good for high current paths. Its to see if connection is clean, continuity
This is the test you should do.i did a multimeter earth test fine
This is the test you should do.
For the ground cable, it's the one from min 2:00 in the video. If the battery negative to the block is under 0.2V while cranking, the ground cable is fine. Use the multimeter instead of lamp tester.
Cranksensor? Does the rev counter move while cranking?

Are you saying it is crankshaft sensor?Don't know the price of a cranksensor, but I would be tempted to replace it with a good brand.
