Hi All.
I have an '02 Multipla 110 Elx Jtd. I recently had the engine management light come on with Engine Control Faulty display. I had a diagnostic test done at an independent garage and it came back saying Boost Sensor Fault.
I replaced the MAP sensor this morning but the engine management light and fault warning is still on.
Does this take a little time to clear, does it need to be cleared and reset by the garage or should it clear by itself immedietly once the problem has been resolved.

Many thanks for your help

Soot!

I had this at about 130k miles. All down to soot.

Cleaned and/or replaced the EGR valve and the turbo actuation valve. All lights cleared and performance returned.

I've got the same egr valve fault, how did you clean it, and what with? (y)

Wynn's do a carb cleaner spray which worked well for me, it's oily carbon deposits so I used paraffin and an old toothbrush to get the worst off.
I ran out of carb cleaner spray and finished off with bbq cleaner which worked as well if not better.
Don't forget to take the solenoid off the end and clean this up, after you've done all that you have the choice of refitting it with or without a blanking plate.

your fault code sounds like the P0236 overboost error. under front of car almost in middle near radiater is a cylindrical metal object with a silicone rubber tube coming from it (its the turbo actuator valve), have someone start car while you look at this valve- you should easily see it move. if it moves then great. now check silicone tubing from & follow its route up to the overboost valve (located next to battery box or earlier models down near radiater). check this rubber tubing for any chaffs or splits at all (very common) as this will give you overboost fault code & limp mode.
if turbo actuator doesnt move, there is no split/chaff in tubing, then chances are your overboost valve is shot (about £45 from shop4parts), you can get forum discount if you donate.
i think (even if you remedy fault) that you will need to clear fault logged. this can be done by either downloading the free fiatecuscan software and OBD2 cable off ebay (£16), OR if fault is rectified, then start the car & turn off 3 times- if fault is rectified, it will clear on 3rd or 4th start up. hope this helps. my bet is your silicone tubing or overboost valve
