Hi
My Ducato has 195000 miles on clock, when engine cold always starts ok and usually ticks over ok but occasionally runs unevenly and puts out a bit of blue smoke but won`t rev when throttle pressed, leave it ticking over 15 mins and it has enough revs and power to drive, after 5 to 10 miles vehicle runs ok.
Scan said air flow control faulty, fit new one, ran ok for 2 days then fault recurred, had throttle control body fit, again ran for 2 days then recurred again.
So far far spent over £600..... Can anybody help please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ?

Sounds like a stuck throttle valve. Is there any evidence that a new one was installed, other than a 600 pounds bill? I once paid a similar amount for a new fuel pump and asked for the old one.
They gave me a large carton, but back home I found just an empty fuel pump/filter housing.

There can also be a wiring or ECU issue. The valve is opened briefly by the ECU to make the engine stop faster, a spring should close it. To find out, you need to pull the electrical plug on the throttle housing but it is very difficult to reach.

Hi buzzpotts I had the same prob as you and spent a fortune fitting new parts until I sent the ecu away to the ecu doctor in Plymouth and they found a fault in it and repaired it sent back to me and now my motorhome runs great so it might be worth you giving them a call on 01752346437
Cheers John

Thanks John, I will give them a ring cos both myself and the small garage I use are both a bit lost with it
Best regards Howard

Hi John, at last I think its sorted.
£160 for Terraclean, clears all carbon deposits out of inlet manifold, back of valves, egr, cat and exhaust.
£193 for vacuum pump (fiat price, robbing bxxxxxxs) and that was fitted free by my little garage.
Everything seems to be working well now.
Regards
Howard
