Hi all,
Bought myself some time ago a Fiat Ducato (2018) with 160.000 km's which was used by a packaging company so I expected some wear and tear. The clutch plates were replaced at 130.000 km's.
The van has been standing still for 6 months now (research on vanbuilding first), I was heading to the car inspection center to get it registered driving forward no problem at all.
But THEN after stopping wanted to put it in reverse and gave a weird buzzing/clunky sound at the clutch area and the dash warning 'gear not available'. Had this only one time before when I bought it but warning went away after stopping and turning ignition off/on (thinking it was probably my fault not being patient with the slow robot shift instead of a fast DSG system). Not this time. Can still drive forward but selecting reverse, hear the robot moving, but no R on the dash and no reverse lights at the back. Also when shifting from forward to neutral I get the warning for 2 seconds but still gets into neutral.
Bought a new battery after reading about fixing this problem with placing an 110ah battery instead of the old worn 100ah (extra power to the robot/ECU), did not fix it.
Next step, checking the clutch Dot 4 oil fill level and checking connections for moist (no idea where to look).
Any more suggestions/fixes before going to the garage with the probably 'change the 30.000 km clutch plates' pricetag?
Friendly greetings.
