Hi there,

We have a McLouis Tandy Plus Camper, with the Ducato 2006 JTD 2.8 engine. On our last trip of the season a week ago, after opening the front door from the inside, the door won't lock anymore. Let me clarify: the door doesn't stay closed anymore as the 'hook' in the lock at the side of the door doesn't come down or catch the metal pin on the van anymore. The door handle doesn't seem loose, and pushing down the knob at the window doesn't work anymore - it seems stuck.
Anybody knows what the issue can be? Are there some basic things I can do with the locks of this type of car? Is this something that can be fixed easily, or do I need to go to a Fiat dealership to replace the entire lock?
Thanks for any help and advice, I am a non-native English speaker so I don't know if I used the correct words to describe my problem.

If the latch is stuck closed in the door then this is how to fix it:

If the latch is stuck open and wont catch the striker, the striker may be out of place, this can happen gradually due to the door latch hitting it.

IF its not those you'll have to take off the door card and see whats happening cable may be stuck .
