Morning All
I have an issue with my 2011 sliding door opening with either the outside handle or internal handle.

I can open the sliding door if I lift the outside handle and also pull the internal handle at the same time.
Any thoughts/advise on how to resolve this issue so the sliding door can be opened by just the outside or inside handle

Thanks

Mark

I am guessing the link between handles and lock release is too slack, so it sounds like interior door panel needs removing and further investigation is required.
Unusual as most van sliding door issues related to dropped doors and worn mechanism etc.:)
With panel off see if actuating/pulling on one release method moves the lock mechanism enough or not to operate.
In the old days it was often just a case of bending a rod link enough to shorten a little thereby making it work earlier, but many are cable operated these days making that harder.

Thanks Mike will investigate

I think it probably will be a Bowden cable. If so, and it hasn't stretched or isn't already at the end of adjustment, it should terminate with an adjustable part much like the bonnet end of the bonnet release cable. A slotted nylon/plastic "bush" that can be relocated notch by notch to adjust the cable tension.

Slightly newer van from ePer, but I don't think the lock arrangements have changed much.

You can see the Bowden cable arrangement on the diagram (one for the internal handle, and one for the external, that seems to 'join' the mechanism at the internal handle elbow.

Given the mechanism shown, it might be that the longer cable is properly adjusted (as you can open the door under certain circumstances), but there is an issue with the shorter (external handle) cable, or the point/elbow at which the two cables join near the internal handle.

Pictures of replacements on the web indicate that OE parts probably have an adjustment similar to the end of the bonnet release cable, aftermarket ones might have a different mechanism or no adjustment.

Not conclusive, but at least you can see how it all joins together.
